The key to a smooth recovery and an excellent outcome is to use ice nearly constantly and remain reclining for 24 hours post surgery. Prednisone and bromelain are given to minimize swelling and bruising and ensure an optimal result. This keeps swelling, pain and stress on the stitches to a minimum. Most women are able to resume normal, light activities in days. Vigorous exercise can be resumed in 4 weeks. Sexual intercourse can resume at 4-6 weeks depending on individual healing. We find that following our aftercare protocol strictly makes recovery tolerable and short and achieves the best result!
